DIY Sugar Scrubs with Calligraphy Tags

I LOVE to make homemade gifts for the Holidays. I’ve been making this scrub as gifts and for myself for years and it’s just too good not to share. This year I upped my game a little and made adorable calligraphy tags for each.

The scrub is always a hit, but when it looks this pretty, it’s both beautiful and amazing on your skin.

This year I went with two different scents. I keep it all natural and coconut oil based with some essential oils. This year I tried “Peppermint Honey Rose” & “Lemon & Honey”. Both are great body scrubs, but I especially like the peppermint for the cooling aroma in the shower. The lemon and honey option is awesome to keep next to the kitchen sink!

Recipe for Peppermint Honey Rose Scrub:

  • 3C of Granulated Sugar

  • 1c Coconut Oil

  • 1/4C Honey

  • 6-7 Drops of Peppermint Essential Oil

  • 5 Shredded Rose Petals (this is technically just for looks - and it’s LOVELY)

You want your scrub to be more sugar than oil. If too much oil is added it will just solidify at the top. You want a perfect blend. If you’re unsure, add the coconut oil slowly. You may need to add more or take away (everything is really by eye on my end. I never took the time to write things down, so this may be splotchy! You’ll see the consistency you want.) Usually this amount makes me around 3 8oz mason jars of scrub.

Lemon & Honey

  • 3C of Granulated Sugar

  • 1c Coconut Oil

  • 1/4C Honey

  • 1C of Lemon rinds

This does involve grading a lemon. For this amount it usually takes me about 2 or 3 lemons. I personally like the chunks of lemon in the scrub and it’s of course the most natural route, but you can always use lemon essential oils instead and take out the extra work! These will be a hit to whoever you decide to grace them with! You can get the adorable wooden scoops on Amazon.
